"Ships" is brought to you by PlanetInAction.com. Developed by Dinther Product Design Ltd. We are a New Zealand software firm specialised in the development of innovative and cost effective simulation software ranging from transport simulation to medical procedure simulations. "Ships" is part of our initiative to write high quality applications for the Google Earth browser plug-in. For this purpose we have started a new web-site called www.planetinaction.com which will showcase our future projects.
The richness of Google Earth is unprecedented with new high resolution updates taking place every month. What better way to explore it's magnificent scenery than to leisurely cruise over its surface in a majestic cruise ship. Explore ports and rivers with a river barge or check out the deep valleys in the Italian Alps travelling aboard the airship Hindenburg.
Moving at the real-time gentle place of a ship will allow you to really enjoy and take in the GoogleEarth Scenery. For this we have added a range of additional camera options that will make it even easier to enjoy the views.
"Ships" is actualy the simulation module of a much larger game that is currently under development but we just had to show you this piece of the game.
Learn how to control your ship and navigate the planet. Try your hand at docking the Queen Mary 2 at Princes wharf in Auckland. See how Brooklyn bridge is dwarfed when the Queen Mary 2 is looming up beside it.
Go up close to the ship and see how it is gently rocking in the water. There is even an animated wake behind the ship. Whatever you do. Make sure you turn on your computer speakers and try the fog horn of the Queen Mary 2.
